DAS Meetings

The Delaware Astronomical Society meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, September through June with the DAS Board Meeting beginning at 7PM (Board meetings are open-to-all to attend to participate in discussions about plans for club activities) then the regular club meeting begins at 8 pm.  Membership is not required to attend our meetings.

The meetings are held at the Mount Cuba Astronomical Observatory 1610 Hillside Mill Road Greenville, DE.

Upcoming Events and Activities


October 21, 2017 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Presentation in the lecture hall about the thin crescent moon and Orionids meteor shower, followed by viewing the October night sky through telescopes. Click here for updated information.


October 24, 2017 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Come to the Astronomy Workshop at Mount Cuba. Share your astronomy interests, talk about and do astronomy! Held EVERY Tuesday except during Monthly Meetings, special events or an emergency. If it's a clear sky we can observe at the Sawin.


October 25, 2017 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

DAS & MCAO present an introduction to observing the night sky for all ages. Equipment will be available or bring your own. Red-filtered lights only, please. Meet at the Hunter Barn parking lot. No fee. Click here for more information.


October 27, 2017 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Explore the stars and enjoy some ice cream! (Raindate is the following day, same time.) Click here for details


October 28, 2017 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Start with a campfire talk at the McCloskey Campground, then join in a world-wide celebration of our nearest neighbor, the MOON! View the night sky through telescopes with the DAS. Information is here. DAS members should watch for more details from the DAS Yahoo Group as we near the date. There is more for members after 9PM.
